Connect to and browse Rackspace Cloud File buckets using Cyberduck

Connecting to Rackspace

In order to connect to Rackspace Cloud Files storage buckets you need to download and install Cyberduck, have a Rackspace user that has access permissions for Cloud Files, and have the associated API Key for that user handy.

Once Cyberduck is installed, you’ll need to download a preconfigured connection profile for your desired region, and then double-click it to install it into Cyberduck.

Enter your Rackspace username and API Key. You might also find it useful to add a human-friendly label too. Close the window and you’ll see the Rackspace profile listed in Cyberduck as a new ‘connection’.

Double-click on the connection and you’ll be authenticated with Rackspace and the root of your Cloud Files account will be listed. Here you’ll see all the available containers.

Find the container you want to modify and double-click to enter the container.

You can do manual actions by clicking on the cog icon in the top middle of Cyberduck or alternatively if you’re simply uploading files you can drag the files/folders from your computer onto the Cyberduck window to begin the upload.

Viewing files in your browser

Log into your Rackspace Cloud account and visit Cloud Files.

From the list of containers, find the container you are looking for and click on the cog to the left of it. Select ‘View all links’. Copy the HTTPS URL. Put this in your browser followed by the path to the files you uploaded.
